This is the progress we have made this week. To clarify, we are working on our licensing for the state of Alabama.
Food Trailer License: we completed our application and took it to the Alabama Department of Public Health located at 301 Max Luther Drive Huntsville, AL 35811. (Facing the building, go to the door on the left side with the Environmental Health sign.) Pay $100 fee and was told my Inspector may reach out to me within 10 days.
- "Health Permit/Plan Review: Alabama Department of Public Health (Madison County) – Submit mobile food unit plan review packets, including detailed drawings of the trailer,, equipment lists, and water system details.
- Business License: City of Huntsville License Department – A business license is required for operating within city limits.
- Fire Marshal Inspection: Food trucks must pass inspection by the local fire marshal for safety, particularly regarding propane or cooking equipment.
It is recommended to contact the Madison County Health Department Environmentalist’s Office directly to obtain the specific, current packet and to schedule inspections.
Purchase additional items for inside and outside of the trailer.
